Successful Inaugural Event for Nova Scotia Chapter

Category:

PEMAC's newest chapter, the Nova Scotia Chapter hosted it's first official event on Tuesday, April 16. There were 24 maintenance, reliability and asset management professionals in attendance from across Nova Scotia, and even a few who had travelled from New Brunswick! Each representing various industries as well as the municipal sector.

It was an informal evening with an overview of PEMAC, introductions of the executive and all in attendance. The main theme of the event focused on the importance of data management, and the challenge to capture knowledge from organizations before it is gone, as well as trusting your condition monitoring data! There was an “Open Mic” for those who wanted to share their “war-stories”, and attendees were entertained by a few good stories that many could relate to.

Everyone participated in working on the Chapter goals, and recommended activities for the chapter to achieve success.  This was a great start to for the chapter, supporting an obvious “need” and “want” in Nova Scotia!  The evening ended with the cutting of a cake to celebrate the inaugural event, and networking.

Special thanks to Martha Myers, Roger Stein and Warren Rodgers for their support thus far in developing the chapter, and providing opportunities for maintenance, reliability and asset management professionals in the region to connect, learn and contribute.

Plans are underway for the next chapter event that is expected to take place in late June. Stay connected by joining the chapter's communication list
