MISSISSAUGA, (March 1, 2017) – PEMAC announces it will be hosting a number of sittings for the internationally recognized, Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) certification exam throughout Canada beginning in March.
The CAMA exam has been developed by The World Partners in Asset Management (WPiAM), a global partnership comprised of non-profit professional associations including PEMAC. Professionals who are interested in promoting themselves as asset management assessors, can demonstrate that they have the necessary amount of asset management knowledge and experience, including knowledge of ISO 5500x, by writing this two hour exam, in one of the locations it is offered in the coming months.
“Certifying individuals with CAMA qualifications will enable organizations to identify credible assessors and auditors, as the organization moves towards ISO 5500x certification itself. The content of the certification exam is heavily focused on subject area knowledge, rather than generic knowledge of ISO processes,” notes Cindy Snedden, Executive Director at PEMAC.
Applicants are not required to complete specific training prior to the exam, however individuals who have successfully completed course one of the Asset Management Professional (AMP) program are well prepared to challenge the CAMA exam.

In addition, information will soon be available about taking the exam at an approved CAMA testing centre for individuals who wish to write the exam but are unable to make one of the pre-determined dates and locations.
The CAMA certification is granted to individuals upon successful completion of the exam as well as a demonstration of relevant experience in asset management. To participate in the exam, individuals must have a minimum five years of working experience in asset management, have working knowledge of ISO 5500X standards, and understand the GFMAM Competency Specification for an ISO 55001 Asset Management System Auditor/Assessor.
