Nova Scotia Chapter Celebrates MMP Program Launch at NSCC

With nearly 20 people in attendance, Chapter executives Martha Myers and Warren Rodgers welcomed the participants and each one introduced themselves sharing how many years' experience they had in the Maintenance, Reliability and Asset Management profession.  It was a well-seasoned group!

Mike Connors from Municipal Group gave an excellent presentation on the benefits personally and for their organization.  He shared an overview of his Capstone Project which has saved the company even more money than expected and a new relationship with their suppliers.  It generated excellent questions from the participants.

Matt Adams, NSCC Workforce Development Officer, shared what NSCC can offer to employers, and the upcoming MMP initiative with the MMP.  Module 1 will start in Spring/Summer 2026, Modules 1, 3, & 5 in Fall, 2026, Modules 2, 4, and 6 for Winter 2027, Modules 1 and 7 in Spring 2027 and Module 8 based on need and volume.  They will meet the needs as required, so please reach out to Matt at matt.adams@nscc.ca.

Richard Stamper shared the benefits of being a PEMAC Member as well as new training opportunities coming up.

Joanne Firth, NSCC Industry Liaison Officer,  went over the many resources that NSCC has across the province and how they can help with innovative projects for companies, including helping with grant applications.  She led a tour to a couple of the labs, including the Energy Lab where Dr. Wayne Groszko shared a couple of the projects that they have worked on, such as a solar window prototype for Kohltech.  To find out more, Joanne can be reached at joanne.firth@nscc.ca.

We ended the evening looking over the spectacular evening view of Halifax, continuing the conversation around this new opportunity for maintenance, reliability and asset management professionals.
