Fort McMurray Chapter Hosts Engaging Professional Development Event at Keyano College

The PEMAC Fort McMurray Chapter held a highly successful professional development event this week, welcoming members and guests to the impressive Power Engineering Lab at Keyano College.

Attendees were greeted by Darren Stacey, Dean of Trades & Technology at Keyano, and had the opportunity to network over refreshments before diving into the evening’s program. Indika Arachchi, Chair of the Power Engineering Department, led participants on a guided tour of the lab, showcasing the advanced facilities and training environment.

The event concluded with a keynote presentation from Jody David Parker, Director of Projects & Turnaround Planning at Suncor. Drawing on his global experience, Jody shared powerful insights into how emerging technologies are transforming work in asset-intensive environments, from team dynamics to performance outcomes.
