PEMAC Connects with Members and Partners at the CNAM Conference

PEMAC was pleased to participate in this week’s CNAM Conference, joining municipal leaders, infrastructure professionals, and asset management practitioners from across Canada for several days of learning, networking, and practical discussion.

A major highlight of the conference was the opportunity to connect with PEMAC members from across the country. It was great to see familiar faces, meet new members, and hear how maintenance, reliability, and asset management professionals are supporting stronger decision-making, improved service delivery, and more resilient communities.

Throughout the week, PEMAC was also proud to spotlight the contributions of members and partners participating in the conference program.

Jennifer Court, Executive Director of Asset Management Ontario, delivered a valuable session on incorporating green infrastructure into Asset Management Plans. Her presentation offered practical lessons on how small municipalities can make meaningful progress, even when working with limited data, staff capacity, and resources.

PEMAC Allied Member ASI Engineering also contributed to the conversation through their session, Designing Asset Management into the Future of Small Municipalities. The session highlighted how smaller communities can advance asset management through practical technology, collaboration, and sustainable infrastructure planning.

PEMAC member Brent Peddle, P.Eng, CAMP, participated in the panel discussion From Risk to Results: Making Better Infrastructure Decisions with the Data You Already Have. The discussion explored how organizations can turn asset data, risk, and performance information into stronger infrastructure investment decisions, even when perfect data or unlimited capacity are not available.

Together, these sessions reinforced an important theme: effective asset management is not about waiting for ideal conditions. It is about using the information, partnerships, and capacity available today to make better decisions for tomorrow.

Thank you to CNAM for hosting a valuable conference, and to the many PEMAC members, partners, and colleagues who helped make the week such a success. We look forward to continuing the conversation and seeing everyone again next year.
