The PEMAC Board of Directors held its annual ’spring face to face’ on Saturday, May 30th at a Toronto airport hotel.
Members attended from across the country to review PEMAC’s progress on it’s Vision, Mission and aligned Goals, Objectives and Initiatives.
In focus:
- a review of progress on Strategic Goal C "Grow the capacity of PEMAC to support our vision” with steady progress noted over several years with demonstrated impact
- a deep dive into the development of governance processes including the functioning of the Board, and the relationship between the Board, staff, and the many members (177) who are contributing significantly to the advancement of the organization. What is working well? What needs improvement?
- MainTrain 2026 Montréal update - sponsorship and exhibitor spots are filling up. Program to be published this month!
- update from representatives to recent global meetings of GFMAM and WPiAM
- 2026-2027 budget review and approval
- next steps in developing a clear, shared, 5 year plan
The meeting was fortuitously timed to enable one of the Board members to check-in on the PEMAC booth at the Skills Canada National Competition 2026 - an event that PEMAC attended to engage with youth who are keenly interested in technical skill development and to share information about the opportunities and value of careers in maintenance and asset management.
Bottom line:
The Board is proud to be collaborating with staff and members who are connecting, learning and contributing as we deliver meaningfully on our mission, " A Canadian not for profit association promoting and enabling excellence in maintenance, reliability, and asset management through collaboration, applied learning, leadership and advocacy."
