Mississauga (November 25, 2025) – PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada presented Halton Region with the 2025 Maintenance Team of the Year Award during this year’s PEMAC Awards ceremony held in Calgary, Alberta as part of the MainTrain conference. The ceremony celebrated excellence in the maintenance, reliability and asset management profession.
The Maintenance Team of the Year award celebrates Canadian maintenance teams that exemplify operational excellence and continuous improvement. The award highlights teams that are measuring themselves against maintenance best practices and delivering measurable results in efficiency, reliability, and team growth.
The award recognizes teams that have implemented structured maintenance strategies, reduced reactive work through effective planning and scheduling, and fostered a culture of reliability and collaboration. Recipients demonstrate strong performance measurement, streamlined workflows, and innovative approaches to training and development.
“Halton Region’s maintenance team truly exemplifies what this award stands for. Their well-structured approach spans major areas including planning, reliability-centered maintenance, and safety, while delivering documented improvements in both safety and performance. Over the years, they’ve sustained progress, implemented structural changes, and overcome significant challenges without losing momentum,” shares Alan Cox, Chair of the PEMAC Awards Committee. “They’ve not only achieved measurable improvements but have built a culture of teamwork and resilience that sets a benchmark for the profession.”
“All credit goes to each staff member who embodies the spirit of plant maintenance and represents the wider Halton Region team. Their commitment ensures our plants, processes, and equipment are available, reliable, and in top condition, upholding the high standards that make Halton a great place to live,” states Philip Lawlor, Manager Treatment Plant Maintenance, Water & Wastewater Treatment Public Works at Halton Region.
