On Thursday, October 22, 20 participants gathered at the Municipal Group of Companies’ head office in Bedford, Nova Scotia, for an opportunity to learn about the company’s operations and explore its successes in maintenance, reliability and asset management.
The visit began with presentations introducing the company and highlighting achievements across these interconnected disciplines. Participants gained insight into the work involved in maintaining equipment, supporting reliable operations and managing the assets that keep the business moving.
Following the presentations, the group toured an operating quarry, bringing the day’s discussions into a practical setting. Seeing the equipment and activities firsthand offered a closer look at the operational environment in which maintenance, reliability and asset management play an essential role.
Participants also had the chance to try the high-tech simulators used to train heavy equipment operators. This hands-on experience was a memorable part of the visit, giving attendees a glimpse into how technology supports operator training.
