Javier Sanchez, MBA, CMC

Javier Sanchez is PotashCorp’s Manager, Change Management. Javier has over 10 years of experience working in a variety of industries including mining, transportation and logistics. Most recently, Javier is involved in a major transformation project at PotashCorp where, as the change management lead, he led the development and implementation of the transformation’s change management strategy. Javier has executed a number of other change and communication initiatives to support very sensitive issues in complex labour intensive-unionized work environments. In these roles, Javier built a reputation of flawless project planning and execution, and has been very successful in engaging stakeholders and motivating project teams under difficult high pressure situations with conflicting priorities. In 2010 Javier’s excellent work in change management was recognized by the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario with the 2010 Right Management Vision Award. Javier is a Certified Management Consultant, holds an MBA from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa and is fluent in English, French and Spanish. 

Topic

Reprising his talk from MainTrain 2013 in Calgary, Javier will present the strategy, plan and results to date for a large scale maintenance transformation project at a mining company enabled by a single software implementation across multiple sites. The change management approach, featuring a high lievel of employee involvement accelerated acceptance and enabled employees to leverage the new tools and maximize ROI.
