Lunch and Learn Webinar: Building Bridges: Lessons from Aligning Physical and Financial Asset Records to Enable Stronger Decision-Making Capabilities (1PM EST, 11AM MST)

This presentation will explore the difference a physical asset as understood by engineering, operations, maintenance versus an asset as understood by finance and accounting. The presentation will review lessons learned from work at the Town of Fort Erie, including demonstration of how defining “what is an asset” between different groups can instill an effective asset lifecycle management approach.

The presentation emphasizes the importance of unifying financial and physical inventories and fostering shared accountability for forecasting and building cross-functional teams to empower decision-makers, bridge the infrastructure gap, and elevate service levels.

Attendees will gain insights into practical strategies for breaking down organizational silos, implementing cross‑departmental workflows, and building a single source of truth for both financial and operational asset data. The result: improved decision‑making, streamlined capitalization & project closure, reduced infrastructure risk, and a more sustainable, data‑driven approach to asset management.

Only PEMAC members receive CPD credits for  attending.
