• Large-scale heat pumps – see how recovered waste heat is upgraded to provide hot water for the district energy system.
• Waste heat recovery – learn how Deep Lake Water Cooling customers’ waste heat becomes a valuable resource.
• Deep lake water cooling – discover how Lake Ontario helps power Toronto’s district energy system.
• District energy at scale – explore how over 200 buildings are connected across downtown Toronto.
• Decarbonization and electrification – see how the Greet Heat Plant reduces emission and manages peak electricity demand.
• Asset renewal & integration – learn how new technology is being incorporated into existing 60 year old energy Centre.

• 10:00 am: Meet at the corner of Adelaide and Simcoe Streets
• 10:15: am - 10:45 am: Enwave Energy Corporation presentation
• 10:45 am – 11:00 am: PPE Distribution
• 11:00 am - 12:30 pm: Plant Tour & Q&A
• 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm: Lunch/networking (optional)

Additional Information

Required PPE for the visit include:

• Hard Hat (will be provided)
• Ear Plugs (will be provided)
• Long-sleeved shirt and pants
• Safety Glasses (will be provided)
• Safety Boots (encouraged to bring your own safety shoes or please email gtachapter@pemac.org with your shoe size to coordinate)
• Please also note that there are ~6 staircases to climb, and the facility does not have elevators.

Directions:

Option#1 (Recommended): Take the GO Train to Union Station. From there, it’s about a 8-minute walk to the destination.

Option# 2 Drive your own car (parking is at your own expense).

• Pearl Street Energy Centre: 120 Pearl Street
• Please meet the Enwave tour guide at the corner of Adelaide and Simcoe Streets
• Please also note that there are ~6 staircases to climb, and the facility does not have elevators.
