The Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) process helps you evaluate how your existing education, training, and work experience align with the MMP program requirements. This self-assessment will guide you in identifying the most appropriate PLAR option and determining whether you are likely to meet the requirements before submitting a formal application.
PLAR is available through the following options:
Before applying for PLAR, review the learning outcomes for any module(s) you are interested in. The learning outcomes outline the knowledge, skills, and competencies learners are expected to demonstrate upon successful completion of each module and can help you determine whether your prior learning and experience meet the module requirements.

You are advised to have your course assessed. Two organizations that specialize in credential assessment are: ICAS, International Credential Assessment Service, www.icascanada.ca and WES, World Education Services, www.wes.org
Recommended PLAR Method: Transfer Credit
This option is appropriate because you indicated that you have completed a pre-approved course that appears on the approval matrix, and that you can provide can provide proof of course completion.

This option is appropriate because you indicated that you have completed a comparable course, and that you can provide a course outline, as well as proof of course completion.
Fee: $150
Recommended PLAR Method: Portfolio / Interview
This option is appropriate because you indicated that your knowledge was gained through experience rather than formal coursework, and you can provide evidence aligned to course outcomes.
