Guiding Principles

High performance in the selection and pursuit of the goals of the association is achieved by developing a culture of teamwork and trust. Teamwork and trust, in turn, is developed by adhering to the principles of transparency, accountability and integrity.

Transparency examples:

  • Major decisions will be discussed fully and openly in meetings whenever practicable.
  • Major plans will be made through a documented process.

Accountability examples:

  • As a non-profit association we owe our highest duty to the public.
  • We exercise that duty by supporting and enhancing the ability of our members to serve the public good with respect to the vision and mission of the association.
  • PEMAC welcomes input and questions from members and investigates and responds to them appropriately.

Integrity examples:

  • We will be respectful, honest and forthright in our dealings.
  • We will be on guard for potential conflicts of interest and manage the affairs of the association to minimize them.
  • Decisions taken by majority vote will be respected and upheld by all regardless of how an individual voted.
