Matthew Wright, Ontario Clean Water Agency

Matthew Wright is a Maintenance System Specialist with the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA). First hired with OCWA for a Co-Op Term in 2006 he was part of an emergency response team sent to a First Nation in Northern Ontario to tend to an E-Coli outbreak. He completed 2 more Co-Op Terms in 2007 and 2008 focused with OCWA’s Asset Management Group and their work in the Region of Peel. Upon completion of his degree in Civil Engineering from McMaster University in 2009 he was hired on with OCWA and promptly given the role of Project Coordinator for the RCM Project with the Region of Peel when it kicked off in 2010. The RCM Project is now its 5th year and it continues to play a vital role in the transformation of how OCWA views maintenance and work management, and pursues its vision of being a Trusted World Leader.

In his presentation, Matthew will provide an overview of the OCWA, and describe how the organization explored a different way to look at failure. Matthew will share some of the details about a project that OCWA undertook to implement reliability centred maintenance, and describe the journey to make it happen. Learn about the successes and failures along the way, as well as the critical success factors of the project.
