Michel est un praticien avec plus de 10 ans d’expérience industrielle (en tant qu'ingénieur et gestionnaire). Il agit maintenant en tant que Professeur à l’ÉTS et ce depuis 18 ans. Il est le fondateur du programme en ligne en Planification et gestion de la maintenance (PGM) avec la PEMAC. À l'occasion il agit en tant que conseiller avec l’ÉTS. Il est également chercheur associé avec l’Institut d’innovation en logistique du Québec (IILQ).

De plus Michel est membre exécutif du nouveau chapitre québécois de la PEMAC (Plan Engineering and Maintenance Association of Canada) et est le fondateur de la chaire de recherche industrielle MATRICIS en
