Presenters:

Kuilin Chen

Kuilin Chen is currently a Ph.D. student supervised by Prof. Chi-Guhn Lee at University of Toronto. His research interests are development of digital twins for manufacturing processes using deep learning and advanced optimization methods.

 

Dr. Chi-Guhn Lee

Dr. Chi-Guhn Lee is a Professor of Industrial Engineering and the Director of the Centre for Maintenance Optimization and Reliability Engineering (C-MORE) at the University of Toronto. Dr. Lee received a Ph.D. in Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA in 2001 and has been active in the areas such as dynamic optimization, Markov decision processes, maintenance optimization, supply chain management and reinforcement learning. He has worked closely with private firms including IBM, General Motors, Magna International, State Grid Corp of China to name a few. He has played various roles in the academic community as well. 

 

Dr. Janet Lam

Dr. Janet Lam has a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto and currently serves as the Assistant Director at the Centre for Maintenance Optimization and Reliability Engineering (C-MORE). Her research interests are using maintenance and failure data to develop statistical models that optimize replacement and inspection scheduling decisions.

Please arrive to the main lobby of the Mechanical building (5 King's College Road http://map.utoronto.ca/utsg/building/022) between 4:15-4:30pm. There is a lecture turnover at 4pm, so it will be very busy in the lobby at exactly 4pm. It will quiet down significantly at 4:15. The tour will end in our technical session room


**Guests arriving directly to the technical sessions

Please arrive directly to room 420 of Myhal Centre (55 St. George Street http://map.utoronto.ca/utsg/building/087). The room will be occupied for classes until 5pm, so early arrivals may have to wait in various lobbies of the building. There are many open spaces available for this purpose.

 

***Dinner

The technical sessions will end sometime between 6:30 and 7pm. 
Dinner will take place on the 8th floor of the Myhal Centre. As the elevators can get busy on the hour, please arrive a few minutes before or after.
